Aftercare that actually matters (and aftercare that doesn't)
I will save you reading the rest of the article: SPF 50+ every day, no actives for five days, sleep elevated for one night, hydrate aggressively. That is 90% of the aftercare that matters after a microneedling or PRF treatment.
The rest — the elaborate "step 7: serum at 4pm" guides — is mostly anxiety-management packaged as protocol. The face has been doing repair work for as long as faces have existed. Get out of its way.
Where aftercare does matter is the first 24 hours. Sun exposure during this window can pigment. Heavy exercise can prolong flushing. Active ingredients (retinols, acids, vitamin C) on freshly micro-channeled skin can cause irritation that lasts days.
Beyond that window, your job is simple: protect, hydrate, sleep. The treatment does its own work in the dermis for the next two to three weeks.
